Incidente-poster miniOn May 9th, we finally will be able to see the Mexican sci-fi drama “The Incident”, a film from Isaac Ezban, courtesy of the “Hola México Film Festival”. We have heard only good things about this movie, and at the same time… pretty much nothing (They are reaaaally keeping details under wraps!) This is Ezban’s first full length feature, and also wrote the script.

From the official synopsis ”Two parallel stories about people trapped in illogical endless spaces: two brothers and a detective locked on an infinite staircase, and a family locked on an infinite road…for a very long time. “

Being announced like a Sci-fi drama, “The Incident” (“El incidente”) has received several awards even before it was filmed , due that the script itself did several successful runs on festivals. What we liked the most about the teaser is that as far as we can tell (and according to people that HAS seen it) it has not shown any big reveals or even the best scenes, something we see more and more these days (YES, I’m looking at you, Terminator Genisys) but we will know for sure (and even drop a review for you, ha,ha) when we get our chance to see it on the big screen in less than two weeks.

We are also excited that we will be able to see ANOTHER Mexican horrid film, this one an anthology, called “México Bárbaro” where we will see stories from 8 different directors, including Isaac Ezban and Luchagore’s own Gigi Guerrero.

Some time ago, we had the chance to see Ezban’s short “Nasty Stuff” and from that moment, it was clear to me that the guy is not interested in limit himself to the Hollywood’s mainstream model (nor Mexico’s usual type of films either) or hesitate to push people’s buttons in order to tell a story. I understand that “The Incident”is taking a different path, but if Ezban’s uses the same originality on his new film, I’m pretty it will be a cool ride.

¿What do you guys think?
